The #1 way I prepare every keynote, and how it leads to more PAID speeches

A newly updated resource that has proven to be my secret weapon over the years is my pre-event questionnaire.

If you're a coaching client, former client, or a member of my PAID to $PEAK VAULT, you already have access to this resource. So go check out the most updated version of my pre-event questionnaire.

Because here’s the truth… my questionnaire eliminates any guess work on speech content and structure that makes an audience and meeting planner extremely pleased and become a raving fan.

You having a great pre-event questionnaire is likely the BEST way to deliver an incredible speech.

Nothing else matters if your speech needs work. Nothing.

Nothing else matters if you don't hit a homerun for the event organizer either.

We can talk marketing, outreach, branding, all of it matters.

But if the speech doesn’t land? The business doesn’t last.

My March and April calendar alone totals over $75,000+ in speaking engagementsand a large portion of that came from spin-off business tied to just two keynotes I delivered last year.

Why? Because those speeches were tailored, intentional, and hit the mark and messaging that connected with my prior audiences.

And that impact manifested with how I prepared in advance.

My Secret Sauce: Pre-Event Questionnaire Structure

My pre-event questionnaire is designed to help me deeply understand:

  1. About the Event
  2. About the Audience
  3. About the Organization
  4. About the Speech (this is where the gold lives)

That final section gives me the “golden goose” insights, what to emphasize, what to avoid, key messaging from leadership, internal language, and exactly how to make the talk feel like it was built just for them…

Because it is.

What I Do Differently Than Other Speakers

  • Every questionnaire is customized for that specific client
  • It includes their logo and branding
  • It’s built in a shared Google Doc for collaboration
  • I only send it after the agreement is signed
  • I use it to guide deeper pre-event conversations

So let me ask you…

Do you have a pre-event questionnaire?

And more importantly, are you asking the right questions?

If this is my #1 ingredient for delivering a keynote that leads to more bookings… why wouldn’t you want it too?

Visit the PAID to $PEAK VAULT to access it.

And one more thing…

How do I actually get clients to complete my questionnaire?

Haha… that’s for the next post
